Dark Willow vs Undying

How this matchup plays

Drafting Dark Willow into an Undying feels like you're setting yourself up for a hard time. Her entire plan revolves around staying safe in the back while controlling fights, but Undying's kit dismantles that. His constant Decay spam makes her incredibly fragile, turning her into an easy kill for a follow-up Soul Rip. Even if she uses Shadow Realm to dodge a spell, the zombies from Tombstone will still be there to swarm her the moment she reappears. Dark Willow needs space to operate, and Undying is an expert at taking that space away and turning fights into a brawl she can't survive.

This dynamic starts in the lane and gets much worse as the game goes on. When Undying drops a Tombstone in a mid-game fight, Dark Willow has no good answer. She can't clear the zombies quickly, she can't safely attack the Tombstone, and she can't burst Undying himself because he's too tanky. She's forced to play from extreme range, hoping a long-distance Cursed Crown finds a target. Meanwhile, Undying can activate Flesh Golem, absorb her spells, and walk through her Bramble Maze to win the teamfight, leaving Dark Willow feeling completely neutralized.
