Dark Willow vs Ursa

How this matchup plays

Trying to lock down an enraged Ursa is tricky for Dark Willow. Her Cursed Crown stun gets heavily shortened by his Enrage, so he can often shrug it off and keep attacking. This makes relying on her stun to kite him a bad plan once he has his ultimate. Her real defense is Shadow Realm. It lets her become untargetable and immune to his physical burst, buying crucial time for her cooldowns or for help to arrive. Bramble Maze can also slow his approach, but it won't stop him if he's already on top of a target.

Early laning tends to favor Dark Willow, as she can harass Ursa before he gets his key items. Once he has a Blink Dagger, though, the game changes completely. It becomes a duel of reaction times. If Ursa can initiate and burst her down before she can activate Shadow Realm, he wins. If she anticipates the jump, she can dodge his entire Overpower combo and turn the fight with her spells. The outcome of their encounters really hinges on vision control and who gets the first action, making it a volatile and balanced fight.
