A fight between these two often comes down to who uses their ultimate first and where. Faceless Void wants to catch key heroes in Chronosphere to win a fight before it starts. Dawnbreaker’s Solar Guardian is a direct answer to this, allowing her to crash into the middle of a Chronosphere from anywhere on the map to save a teammate and turn the engagement. This ultimate-for-ultimate trade creates a standoff. Outside of that, Dawnbreaker is much stronger in the early and mid-game, able to bully Void with her durability and Starbreaker damage, but Time Walk can often let him slip away from a fatal blow.

The result is a game of cat and mouse. Dawnbreaker will try to run at Faceless Void and his team, forcing fights to accelerate the game and build a lead before he gets his core items. Void’s team plays defensively, trying to secure his farm and find the perfect opportunity for a Chronosphere. If Void can catch Dawnbreaker herself, the fight is usually won. If she can stay on the edges and hold her ultimate for his, she can completely punish his aggression and swing the late game in her own team's favor.
