Picking Lina into a Dawnbreaker often means rethinking your gank targets and timing. Lina's core plan revolves around finding a hero, locking them down with Light Strike Array, and bursting them with Laguna Blade. Dawnbreaker's Solar Guardian is a direct answer to this, letting her turn what looks like an easy kill for Lina into a counter-gank. Dawnbreaker is also naturally durable and tends to build items that help her survive Lina's initial spell combo. Once that burst is absorbed, she can close the distance and threaten the fragile Lina, who has few escape options.

This dynamic forces Lina to play more cautiously around the map. During the mid-game, she can't be as aggressive with solo pickoffs when Solar Guardian is available.
