Dawnbreaker vs Pangolier

How this matchup plays

Trying to escape with Rolling Thunder often ends poorly for Pangolier against a Dawnbreaker. Starbreaker provides a wide, reliable area-of-effect stun that can easily interrupt his roll and lock him down for a kill. Pangolier relies on being a slippery target, weaving through fights with Swashbuckle and Shield Crash, but Dawnbreaker's kit is perfectly suited to stop him in his tracks. She's also naturally durable enough to withstand his initial damage combo, leaving him vulnerable once his spells are on cooldown. Her Celestial Hammer slow makes it even harder for him to get away once he's been caught.

This dynamic forces the Pangolier player to be extremely cautious. He has to wait for Dawnbreaker to use her stun on someone else before he can safely commit, severely limiting his impact in teamfights. Dawnbreaker, meanwhile, can confidently frontline, holding her abilities to shut him down the moment he appears. This is the exact opposite of how they work on the same team, where her stun creates the perfect setup for his roll. Against her, Pangolier can't effectively initiate or escape, turning one of the game's most mobile heroes into a predictable target.
