Trying to isolate a hero with Hookshot feels risky when Dawnbreaker is on the other team. Her ability to show up anywhere on the map with Solar Guardian can turn Clockwerk's ideal pickoff attempt into a dangerous liability. Instead of a clean kill, his team might face a counter-initiation from a durable hero landing right on top of them. Even if Clockwerk catches Dawnbreaker, she’s naturally tough to bring down inside Power Cogs and can sometimes escape the trap with a well-timed Celestial Hammer.

This advantage is far from overwhelming. In lane, Clockwerk can be a real problem, using Battery Assault to cancel Starbreaker and control trades. A good Hookshot on Dawnbreaker herself is still a powerful initiation if his team is ready to follow up. The matchup forces Clockwerk to be more thoughtful, playing around vision and tracking Solar Guardian's cooldown. He has to execute perfectly, while Dawnbreaker provides a constant safety net for her team, which is where her slight edge comes from.
