Dawnbreaker vs Sven

How this matchup plays

Picking Sven into a lineup often means accepting that the enemy frontliner can't be your primary target. Dawnbreaker is a difficult hero for Sven to burst down, even with God's Strength active. Her natural tankiness means she can often survive his initial stun, and trading hits with her is risky because of Starbreaker. That ability makes it painful for any melee hero to stand near her, and the stun at the end can interrupt Sven's damage even after his own disables have worn off. She creates a problem he can’t easily solve with right-clicks.

This forces Sven to try and bypass Dawnbreaker to kill her squishier teammates. The problem is, Solar Guardian allows her to protect those allies from across the map, turning a promising gank into a losing fight. Sven's success hinges on his ability to find kills so quickly that Dawnbreaker can't respond in time, or on his team controlling her completely. Dawnbreaker, meanwhile, is happy to extend the fight, survive Sven's initial BKB duration, and then turn things around when his damage falls off. This dynamic gives her a consistent, if small, advantage.
