Dawnbreaker vs Weaver

How this matchup plays

Thinking you can easily kite Dawnbreaker is a common trap for a Weaver player. Starbreaker's wide, spinning area of effect makes it hard for Weaver to stay safe, even while using Shukuchi to reposition. If he gets clipped by the final smash, the stun is more than enough time for allies to secure the kill. Dawnbreaker is also durable enough to simply walk through the harass from The Swarm and Geminate Attack to close the distance. She doesn’t need to land a perfect spell, she just needs to be near him.

This problem gets worse for Weaver as the game goes on. He wants to find pickoffs and apply pressure, but Dawnbreaker's Solar Guardian directly counters this playstyle. Any gank attempt can be instantly turned by her global arrival, which brings a stun and a massive heal for her teammate. This forces Weaver to play reactively, as he can’t risk committing to a fight that Dawnbreaker can join from anywhere. His own escape with Time Lapse is often not enough to survive the sudden, coordinated collapse she enables.
