Dazzle vs Death Prophet

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst a target with Exorcism runs right into a wall against Dazzle. His Shallow Grave can completely negate the kill attempt, leaving Death Prophet with a long cooldown and little to show for it. The entire fight then hinges on whether she can land her Silence on Dazzle first. If the Grave is prevented, the ghosts will almost certainly secure their kill. This back-and-forth makes skirmishes very dependent on who gets their key spell off first. Dazzle also provides sustained healing with Shadow Wave to mitigate the ghost damage, but it’s rarely enough if a key ally can't be saved outright.

This dynamic dictates the mid-game. Death Prophet has to position aggressively, looking for a flank to catch Dazzle and silence him before he can react. In response, Dazzle plays cautiously, staying far behind his cores. This often leads to stalled fights where neither side wants to fully commit, as both heroes enable their teams to survive long engagements. When facing each other, they tend to cancel one another out. The game comes down to which team can better execute their one job: for Death Prophet, landing the silence, and for Dazzle, getting the Grave off in time.
