How this matchup plays

Saving an ally from Duel is the entire story of this matchup. Dazzle's Shallow Grave can prevent a target from dying, which denies Legion Commander the bonus damage even if the Duel timer runs out. This interaction alone can completely stall out Legion Commander’s game plan, as she relies on those early Duel victories to snowball. However, this relies on Dazzle being alive and in range to cast his spell. A smart Legion Commander will often identify Dazzle as the primary target for Duel, since he's a fragile hero who can't save himself once locked down. This creates a balanced, high-stakes dynamic right from the start.

The game becomes a battle of positioning and target priority. If Legion Commander's team can't find and eliminate Dazzle before a major fight, her Duels are significantly weaker. Dazzle, in turn, has to play far back and be ready for the initiation. The matchup can also swing later on based on item choices. Should Legion Commander invest in an item to purge Shallow Grave, Dazzle's life becomes much harder.
