Dazzle vs Phoenix

How this matchup plays

Trying to survive a big teamfight often comes down to Phoenix's Supernova. Dazzle has a difficult time contributing to killing the egg himself, as his spells and attacks are not suited for the task. This can give Phoenix a major advantage, allowing a full-duration stun and rebirth. Dazzle’s main response is to use Shallow Grave on a key ally before the stun lands, or immediately after it ends, to prevent the follow-up burst from securing a kill. The sustained healing from Shadow Wave can also help offset the burn damage from Phoenix’s other spells, but the egg remains the central problem.

The outcome of this matchup really depends on the rest of the draft and fight execution. If Dazzle's teammates have enough physical damage to quickly destroy the Supernova, Phoenix's biggest threat is neutralized. If they don't, Dazzle may find himself using Grave on a target only to watch them die moments later when the egg's stun wears off. It becomes a game of cooldowns and positioning. Both heroes enable their team to play aggressively, but in opposite ways; one hero tries to end the fight with a single big spell, while the other tries to outlast it.
