How this matchup plays

Picking Dazzle into a Wraith King often feels like you're setting yourself up for an awkward fight. Dazzle’s entire game revolves around using Shallow Grave to save an ally from a fatal blow, turning a fight on a single cooldown. Wraith King fundamentally undermines this by having Reincarnation. Dazzle's team can invest everything to kill Wraith King, only for him to get back up, ready to fight again. This means Dazzle’s most powerful spell doesn't solve the core problem of a Wraith King; it only delays dealing with one of his health bars, while his own ultimate offers a much more definitive second chance.

This dynamic usually plays out in mid-game teamfights. The Wraith King player will often be the one initiating, forcing Dazzle to use Shallow Grave on a focused ally. After the Grave ends, Wraith King is still healthy and hitting, and his own second life is still available. Dazzle’s team is forced to either try to kill Wraith King twice, which drains significant resources, or ignore him and risk their backline getting run down. To win, the Dazzle player needs perfect positioning and timing, hoping their team can kill Wraith King’s allies while he is being kited.
