Dazzle vs Slark

How this matchup plays

Facing a Slark pick often makes you hesitate to pick Dazzle. The core issue is Dark Pact, which Slark can use to instantly purge the slow from Poison Touch. This removes Dazzle's main tool for kiting and peeling, allowing Slark to stick on his chosen target with very little counterplay from the back line. While a well-timed Shallow Grave can save an ally from Slark’s initial burst, the underlying problem remains: Dazzle can’t easily control the slippery hero or create space for his team to react.

This dynamic forces Dazzle to play a purely reactive game. His goal is to position far back and anticipate Slark's jump, hoping to apply Shallow Grave before it's too late. The fight becomes a duel of cooldowns. Slark, however, has the advantage of mobility and initiative; he can choose when and where to strike, often looking for Dazzle himself. If Slark finds Dazzle out of position, the fight is over. The pressure is on the Dazzle player to execute perfectly, which gives Slark a small but consistent edge throughout the mid-game.
