Death Prophet vs Faceless Void

How this matchup plays

Catching Death Prophet inside Chronosphere can neutralize her main teamfight contribution. Her Exorcism ghosts stop dealing damage when she is frozen, effectively wasting a long cooldown if Faceless Void can land his ultimate. Even without her ultimate, a well-placed Chronosphere can lock her down long enough for his team to follow up, as she lacks a natural escape. Faceless Void can use Time Walk to reposition and find the right angle, putting constant pressure on her positioning.

The matchup often becomes a game of chicken over these two big spells. Death Prophet will try to play on the edges of fights, using her Silence to disrupt Void's initiation or waiting for him to commit Chronosphere to a different target. If she can bait the spell or her team can protect her through its duration, her sustained damage from Spirit Siphon can overwhelm him. Faceless Void, in turn, is often content to hold his ultimate, waiting for the distinct sound of Exorcism before he jumps in. This creates an advantage, but good timing from Death Prophet can level the playing field.
