Death Prophet vs Lina

How this matchup plays

Deleting a key target with a quick spell combo is Lina's entire goal. Death Prophet is an ideal victim, as she needs to stand relatively still to get full value from Exorcism and Spirit Siphon. This immobility makes her an easy target for Light Strike Array and Laguna Blade. While Death Prophet’s Silence can disrupt this plan, Lina’s superior cast range often lets her get the combo off from a safe distance before the silence can land, forcing Death Prophet to play reactively from the start of an engagement.

The matchup often comes down to who gets the jump. Lina wants to use her burst damage to eliminate Death Prophet before a teamfight properly begins. Death Prophet’s goal is to survive that initial salvo, either through better positioning or with items like a Black King Bar. If she lives through Lina's spells and can turn with Exorcism, the fight can swing her way. The slight advantage for Lina comes from her ability to set the tempo and dictate these engagements more easily, especially in the mid-game.
