Death Prophet vs Muerta

Fights where both heroes have their ultimates online often favor Muerta's team. When Death Prophet commits Exorcism for a kill or a push, Muerta can activate Pierce the Veil and become completely immune to the physical damage from the ghosts. This can neutralize a huge amount of teamfight damage, forcing the spirits to find other targets or leaving Death Prophet vulnerable. While Spirit Siphon still drains Muerta, losing Exorcism's impact against a core hero is a major problem. Death Prophet's best response is to land a Silence before Muerta can get her ultimate off, making initiation and spell timing critical.

This core interaction tends to slow down Death Prophet's game. She wants to use Exorcism to win a fight and then immediately take a tower or Roshan, but the threat of Pierce the Veil makes that a gamble. If Muerta has her ultimate ready, Death Prophet's team can't fully commit to their objective-based timing. This forces the Death Prophet player to either wait for Muerta to use her spell, find a pickoff on her before a fight, or settle for using Exorcism on a less important target, reducing its overall value.
