Death Prophet vs Necrophos

How this matchup plays

Slowing down the game and stopping objective pushes creates the core problem for Death Prophet in this matchup. Her game plan revolves around using Exorcism to run at enemies and buildings, but this makes her a perfect target for Necrophos. As her health drops from being in the middle of the fight, she becomes vulnerable to Reaper's Scythe. A successful Scythe not only removes Death Prophet from the fight but extends her respawn timer, completely stalling her team's momentum and ability to take map control. This threat alone forces her to play much more cautiously than she wants to.

The result is a mid-game dance where both heroes define the teamfights. Death Prophet's team will often try to use her Silence to lock down Necrophos and burst him before he can react. In return, Necrophos’s team focuses on keeping him alive long enough to find the right moment for his ultimate.
