How this matchup plays

Getting caught out of position is the main fear here. Death Prophet wants to use Exorcism and run at the enemy team, but this makes her a big, predictable target for Meat Hook. A successful pull usually leads straight into Dismember, completely locking her down and preventing her from controlling the fight or her ghosts. Pudge also naturally builds a high health pool and gets magic resistance, making him a tough target for Spirit Siphon and the ghosts to burn down even if she does get to focus on him. The threat of his hook-and-stun combo can force her to play much more defensively than she wants to.

This dynamic shapes the entire mid-game. Death Prophet must constantly be aware of her positioning, using creeps and teammates as a shield to block potential hooks. A missed hook from Pudge can open the door for her team to take a fight or a tower, as he offers little else once his main tools are on cooldown. However, the pressure is always on her not to make a mistake.
