Death Prophet vs Silencer

How this matchup plays

Trying to run at the enemy team with Exorcism, Death Prophet wants to constantly use Crypt Swarm for damage and Spirit Siphon to survive. This game plan plays directly into Silencer's kit. Every spell she casts refreshes and extends the duration of Arcane Curse, stacking up damage. Last Word punishes any of her spell casts with a silence, interrupting her rhythm and preventing her from siphoning health when she needs it most. Silencer essentially makes her core loop of casting spells a huge liability.

This dynamic makes laning difficult, but the real issue emerges in the mid-game. Death Prophet's biggest power spike is her Exorcism, which she uses to force teamfights and push towers. A well-timed Global Silence completely neutralizes this offensive push, leaving DP and her team exposed while her ultimate goes to waste. Death Prophet is often forced to buy an early Black King Bar or other dispels just to function, delaying the items she needs to be a threat, while Silencer is naturally effective against her from the start.
