Death Prophet vs Slardar

How this matchup plays

Taking map control becomes very difficult against a Slardar. He's great at punishing Death Prophet before her Exorcism can do its job on towers or in a fight. Corrosive Haze strips away her armor, making her incredibly soft to his physical damage and any follow-up from his team. With Guardian Sprint and a Blink Dagger, he can close the gap instantly, and his Slithereen Crush and constant bashes prevent her from kiting away or using Spirit Siphon to survive. He completely negates her ability to stand her ground.

This forces Death Prophet to play on the back foot for the whole game. Her usual plan of pushing lanes and forcing objectives with her ultimate is far too dangerous when Slardar is missing. To survive, she often has to buy a Ghost Scepter or other defensive items much earlier than she'd like, which delays her own impact. Her best bet is to land her Silence before he can jump, but this relies on having good vision and faster reactions, as Slardar usually dictates the terms of the fight.
