Death Prophet vs Vengeful Spirit

Forcing objectives with Exorcism is the core of Death Prophet's game plan, and Vengeful Spirit is perfectly equipped to dismantle it. As soon as Death Prophet commits her ultimate to a fight or a tower push, a single Nether Swap can completely neutralize her. Swapping Death Prophet to the backline wastes her ultimate's duration, while swapping her into the middle of your team gets her killed. Vengeful Spirit's reliable stun and armor reduction from Wave of Terror further punish any positional mistake, making it incredibly difficult for Death Prophet to survive once she's been displaced.

This forces the Death Prophet's team to play with extreme caution around their biggest timing. They either have to find and kill Vengeful Spirit before committing Exorcism, or the DP needs to wait for Swap to be used on a different target—a mistake a good Vengeful Spirit won't make. The burden is entirely on the DP's team to solve a problem that Vengeful Spirit creates simply by being on the map. This constant threat often prevents Death Prophet from applying pressure, causing her team's tempo to completely stall out.
