Death Prophet vs Viper

How this matchup plays

Laning against Viper feels miserable for most, and Death Prophet is no exception. His constant poison pressure makes it difficult for her to channel Spirit Siphon, and his Nethertoxin creates zones where she takes amplified damage. This can completely shut down her ability to trade effectively. However, Death Prophet's Silence is the perfect tool to create an opening. By shutting off Viper’s access to his spells, she can turn the tables for a few crucial seconds, allowing her to either secure a kill with her team or drain him without fear of retaliation.

The matchup often comes down to timing and team coordination. Death Prophet wants to group early and run at buildings with Exorcism, a strategy Viper struggles to deal with on his own. He is much better at isolating and slowing a single target with Viper Strike than he is at stopping a full team push. Because of this, Viper's goal is to catch Death Prophet before she can get a fight started. If he can find and kill her while she's rotating, he neutralizes her team's primary game plan.
