Death Prophet vs Weaver

How this matchup plays

Trying to pin down Weaver is the core problem for Death Prophet. Her main damage sources, Exorcism and Spirit Siphon, both require her to stay relatively close to her target. Weaver can easily create distance with Shukuchi, forcing the ghosts to travel farther and reducing their impact. If he does get caught out and takes a lot of damage, a quick Time Lapse can undo most of it, effectively wasting a huge portion of Death Prophet's ultimate. Her main answer is a well-timed Silence, which can stop him from escaping and allow her team to collapse on him.

This dynamic shapes how teamfights play out. Death Prophet wants to lead a five-man push, using her ultimate to secure an objective and dare the enemy to fight into her. Weaver is perfectly suited to counter this strategy. While DP is committed to a push, he can apply pressure elsewhere on the map or look for pickoffs on her supports. In a direct fight, he can weave in and out of the fray, chipping away at the back line. The outcome often depends on which hero can better execute their team's game plan, rather than one directly dominating the other.
