Disruptor vs Phoenix

How this matchup plays

Trying to lock down a target with Glimpse is how Disruptor controls the game, but Phoenix has several ways to spoil the plan. Phoenix can often use Icarus Dive to escape the Kinetic Field before the real damage comes down. More importantly, if one of Phoenix's allies gets caught, a quick Supernova can save them. Disruptor has no way to break the egg on his own, as his spells are useless against it and his attack damage is low. This effectively resets the fight and can leave Disruptor's team overextended.

This dynamic means Phoenix can play a reactive game. Disruptor has to find the perfect initiation, either by baiting out Supernova beforehand or by catching Phoenix himself and silencing him with Static Storm. If he can't, his team's pick-off attempts become unreliable. Phoenix can stay in the back, heal and slow with Sun Ray and Fire Spirits, and wait for the moment to counter-initiate. The pressure is on Disruptor to make a play, while Phoenix can often afford to wait for a mistake.
