Disruptor vs Riki

How this matchup plays

Picking Disruptor into an enemy Riki can feel like a gamble. Riki has multiple ways to get on top of a fragile support and prevent them from casting spells. His Blink Strike lets him close the distance instantly, and Smokescreen provides a silence that shuts down Disruptor's entire toolkit. This allows Riki to burst his target before they can react with a Glimpse or Kinetic Field. Even if Disruptor manages to cast Static Storm, a well-timed Tricks of the Trade can dodge the initial silence and damage. Riki is built to find and isolate key heroes, and Disruptor often fits that description perfectly.

The matchup forces Disruptor to play a much more defensive game. His main goal becomes staying alive, which means better positioning behind his cores and never moving around the map alone. Sentry Wards and Dust of Appearance are critical. If Riki jumps in, the fight isn't over; a quick stun from an ally or a successful Glimpse after Riki uses his spells can turn the engagement around completely. The game often comes down to whether Riki can successfully assassinate Disruptor before a fight or if Disruptor’s team can peel for him and punish the aggression.
