Disruptor vs Vengeful Spirit

How this matchup plays

Trapping an enemy in Kinetic Field and Static Storm is the core of Disruptor's game plan, but Vengeful Spirit directly counters it. Nether Swap instantly pulls a trapped ally to safety, leaving Disruptor's long-cooldown ultimate completely wasted. This works against Glimpse as well; Vengeful Spirit can either Swap the target back to the fight or, more proactively, Swap Disruptor himself into a terrible position. Because Nether Swap is instant, a reactive Vengeful Spirit can invalidate Disruptor's entire spell combination before it has any impact, turning his best-case scenario into a liability for his team.

This dynamic forces Disruptor to play a hesitant game. He has to wait for Nether Swap to be on cooldown or try to catch Vengeful Spirit herself, which is often difficult and risky. Vengeful Spirit, meanwhile, can play with confidence, knowing she holds the ultimate answer to Disruptor's biggest threat. This puts the burden of outplaying entirely on the Disruptor, who has to navigate around a single, instant spell that fundamentally breaks his combo. It consistently makes it hard for Disruptor to find the fight-winning plays he needs to make.
