Disruptor vs Viper

How this matchup plays

Trying to lock down a Viper with Static Storm can often feel like a coin flip. On one hand, Disruptor has the tools to hold a hero in place and set up a kill. Glimpse can punish any attempt Viper makes to get a better position. On the other hand, Viper’s own kit provides a solid defense against this. His natural magic resistance from Corrosive Skin helps him endure the damage from Static Storm, and because he’s not a mobile hero to begin with, getting Glimpsed isn't as devastating as it is for others. He’s often durable enough to survive the combo and turn the fight.

This matchup is less about which hero directly counters the other and more about whose team executes their plan better. Disruptor's goal is to find good initiation on Viper's allies, using his spells to control the battlefield from a safe distance. Viper’s team wants to do the opposite: close the gap, get on top of Disruptor's cores, and let Viper's damage-over-time spells melt them down. If Disruptor gets caught out of position, a Viper Strike will make sure he can't escape. It's a game of positioning and team coordination, not a simple hero-on-hero contest.
