Dragon Knight vs Legion Commander

How this matchup plays

Trying to Duel a Dragon Knight can be a trap. His natural armor from Dragon's Blood and the attack damage reduction from Fire Breath make him an inherently difficult target for Legion Commander's main physical damage ultimate. Forcing a one-on-one fight with him, especially once he has a few items, often ends poorly for Legion. The advantage isn't found in a direct confrontation, but in the overall pace of the game. Legion Commander is built to find pickoffs and snowball from early kills, whereas Dragon Knight is a slower, more methodical hero who needs time and levels to reach his peak tower-pushing strength.

This matchup often sees Legion Commander ignoring Dragon Knight entirely during the mid-game. Instead, she will use her mobility to hunt his weaker teammates, building up Duel damage and controlling the map while DK is slowly farming. This forces Dragon Knight's team to play defensively and grouped up. The game becomes a race: Legion tries to build an insurmountable lead before DK can get his core items and start leading five-man pushes. If Dragon Knight can successfully protect his team and force fights on his own terms, he can blunt Legion’s momentum and out-scale her in late-game teamfights.
