Dragon Knight vs Ogre Magi

How this matchup plays

Opting for Dragon Knight means you're looking for a durable frontliner who can push towers. Ogre Magi complicates that plan by being an equally durable nuisance. Ogre’s high health and regeneration allow him to shrug off Dragon Knight's laning pressure and Fire Breath. Meanwhile, Ignite makes it hard for Dragon Knight to commit to any attack, slowing him down and burning his health. Even if DK closes the distance for a Dragon Tail, Ogre can often trade stuns with Fireblast and simply walk away from the engagement, having won the trade.

Later on, Dragon Knight's goal is to use his ultimate to take objectives and force fights. Ogre Magi remains a problem here, using his abilities to protect his teammates and slow down the push. The path to victory for Dragon Knight usually involves buying a Black King Bar to ignore the slows and stuns from Ogre. This allows him to focus on more important targets, but Ogre's disruptive presence can make getting to that critical item timing more difficult and slower than usual.
