Dragon Knight vs Pangolier

How this matchup plays

Attempting to kite Dragon Knight as Pangolier often backfires. While Pangolier is incredibly mobile, Dragon Tail provides a simple, instant stun that can pin him down before he can use Swashbuckle or Shield Crash to escape. This single ability disrupts Pangolier's entire pattern of weaving through fights. Additionally, Dragon Knight’s natural tankiness from Dragon Blood means he can absorb a full combo without being in much danger, allowing him to turn the engagement. Elder Dragon Form's ranged attack further complicates things, making it harder for Pangolier to maintain a safe distance.

As the game develops, Dragon Knight will often get a Blink Dagger to initiate directly onto Pangolier, locking him down for a team kill. In response, Pangolier has to play much more cautiously, waiting for the stun to be used on an ally or using Rolling Thunder to engage from long range. He's frequently forced into buying defensive items earlier than he'd like, which can slow his own damage progression. The pressure is on the Pangolier player to outmaneuver a very straightforward lockdown, giving Dragon Knight a consistent, if small, advantage.
