Dragon Knight vs Pudge

How this matchup plays

Thinking Dragon Knight's armor makes him a good answer to Pudge is a common trap. Much of Pudge's damage from Meat Hook and Dismember is pure, which goes right through the high armor granted by Dragon Blood. As a result, Dragon Knight isn't nearly as durable against him as he is against most physical damage heroes. While DK's Dragon Tail is a reliable stun for interrupting a Dismember channel on an ally, it's completely ineffective if Pudge activates his Black King Bar. More importantly, if Dragon Knight himself gets caught by Dismember, he obviously can't stun his way out.

This dynamic means Dragon Knight has to play carefully. In lane, his passive regeneration helps him sustain through the occasional Hook, but he's always at risk. Later on, Pudge's whole game is about finding pickoffs to stop pushes, which is exactly what Dragon Knight wants to do with his Dragon Form cooldowns. A successful hook on any core before a tower push can completely stall out DK's momentum. Pudge has the right tools to punish Dragon Knight’s very direct game plan, giving him a small but consistent edge.
