Dragon Knight vs Tidehunter

How this matchup plays

Controlling a lane against Tidehunter can be difficult for a Dragon Knight. A key part of Dragon Knight’s ganking and lane pressure is Dragon Tail, but Tidehunter's Kraken Shell can passively dispel the stun. This interaction makes it much harder to secure kills on him early on, allowing him to farm more freely. In addition, Anchor Smash reduces base attack damage, which can weaken Dragon Knight's output, especially when he's in Elder Dragon Form trying to bring down a specific hero or a tower. These tools combine to slightly dampen Dragon Knight's usual aggressive timings.

As the game progresses, Dragon Knight often wants to lead the charge on objectives. A well-timed Ravage can disrupt these tower pushes, forcing DK's team to scatter while he is stunned. While Dragon Knight is durable and can often survive the spell, the threat of it forces him to be more careful with his positioning. He can't simply walk at a tower with his team grouped behind him if Ravage is available. This allows Tidehunter's team a bit more breathing room to organize a defense and can slow down the pace at which Dragon Knight can control the map.
