Pushing out a lane with a wave of treants becomes a massive liability when playing against an Earthshaker. Every unit summoned by Nature's Prophet adds significant damage to Echo Slam, turning a standard split-push into an easy kill and a huge gold bounty. Earthshaker doesn't even need to be close to start a fight; a long-range Fissure can block Prophet's escape path and provide the stun needed for the team to collapse before he can Teleport away. The very tools Prophet uses to create pressure directly empower his enemy.

This dynamic forces Nature's Prophet to completely alter his game plan. Instead of applying constant pressure across the map, he has to be extremely cautious whenever Earthshaker is not visible. A single mistake while trying to farm or push a tower can lead to an instant death and a lost objective elsewhere. Prophet is often relegated to staying with his team, where his global presence is wasted. His only real counterplay is to hope his supports can provide deep enough vision to track Earthshaker's movements, which is unreliable at best.
