Earthshaker vs Kunkka

How this matchup plays

Catching an enemy with X Marks the Spot feels great until a Fissure wall splits you from your target. A well-timed stun from Earthshaker can completely ruin Kunkka's combo, giving allies plenty of time to get away before the ship and cleave land. The reverse is also true. A pre-emptive X Marks the Spot on an Earthshaker who blinks in means his Echo Slam goes off far from the fight, as he's yanked back to where he started a moment later. Each hero has a tool that directly answers the other's primary method of starting a fight.

This creates a standoff in teamfights. Kunkka will often hold his X, waiting for the Blink initiation. Earthshaker, in turn, may have to look for a different target or wait for Kunkka to use his spells on someone else first. It becomes a game of patience and positioning, where both sides are trying to bait out the other's key ability. Success usually comes down to which team has better vision and can force the other to react, turning a potential fight-winning play into a missed opportunity.
