Earthshaker vs Marci

How this matchup plays

Going for a solo kill on an exposed hero feels like Marci's whole job, but Earthshaker makes that commitment dangerous. Her entire combo, especially during Unleash, can be interrupted by a well-timed Fissure or the Aftershock from an Enchant Totem. Both heroes want to lock down targets, but Earthshaker's tools are better at stopping a dive than Marci's are at executing one against his team. She needs to get close to do her damage, and that's exactly where he wants enemies to be. His stuns are simply more disruptive to her game plan.

Early on, a good Fissure can shut down a gank from Marci, blocking her approach or escape after a Rebound. Later in teamfights, Marci has to be very careful about who she jumps. If she dives a core, Earthshaker can peel with his stuns and turn the fight with Echo Slam if her team follows too closely. Marci's best bet is to wait for Earthshaker to use his spells first or to get a Black King Bar to ignore him completely. The matchup becomes a game of cooldowns, but Earthshaker generally has an easier time disrupting Marci than she has avoiding him.
