Earthshaker vs Omniknight

How this matchup plays

Facing down an Earthshaker puts Omniknight in a difficult position. Earthshaker’s whole game is about area-of-effect lockdown, often from off-screen with a Blink Dagger. This forces Omniknight to play reactively. While Guardian Angel is a powerful answer to the physical damage that follows an Echo Slam, it does nothing to prevent the chain of magical stuns that sets it all up. If Fissure splits the fight or if Echo Slam catches Omniknight himself, his ability to save his team is severely hampered. He's often forced to use his ultimate pre-emptively or risk not getting to use it at all.

Throughout the game, this dynamic creates a tense chess match. The Earthshaker is constantly looking for an angle to initiate and stun key targets before they can be protected. The Omniknight, in turn, must position himself safely on the edge of fights, ready to cast his spells but far enough away to avoid being the primary target of a blink-in. A well-timed dispel from Omniknight can save a core, but he can’t save everyone from a multi-hero stun. The initiative that Earthshaker brings to a fight gives him a consistent, if small, advantage.
