Earthshaker vs Primal Beast

How this matchup plays

Stopping a Primal Beast charge from across the screen with a well-placed Fissure is one of Earthshaker's main advantages here. The long-range stun and terrain block can completely neutralize Primal's initiation before it even starts. If Primal Beast does manage to get into the fight, a follow-up Echo Slam can punish him for being in the middle of everything. However, Primal Beast has a crucial tool in Pulverize, which disables targets through magic immunity. This means he has a reliable way to lock down and kill Earthshaker, even if the shaker gets a Black King Bar to try and survive the initial chaos of a fight.

The matchup often comes down to a battle of cooldowns and positioning. Earthshaker wants to play from the fog, using Blink Dagger to find and disable the Primal Beast before he can use his ultimate. In response, Primal Beast needs to anticipate this and either bait out the Fissure or initiate on a different target, forcing Earthshaker to react. If Primal Beast can survive the initial stuns from Shaker, he can often turn the fight around. The outcome depends on who gets the jump and executes their spell combo first.
