Earthshaker vs Wraith King

How this matchup plays

Landing a huge Echo Slam on Wraith King feels great for about half a second. He’s often in the middle of his team, and his skeletons can even amplify the initial damage. The problem is Reincarnation. After taking all of Earthshaker's burst, Wraith King comes back to life with a massive slow that pins down the Shaker, who has already used his spells. This turns Earthshaker’s best moment into a trap. Instead of winning the fight, he often ends up dying to a resurrected King, having spent his biggest cooldown for almost no real gain on the primary target.

This dynamic shapes the entire game. Wraith King can confidently group and push objectives, forcing Earthshaker to react. If the Shaker waits for Reincarnation to be used, the rest of his team is probably already dead. If he uses his combo on Wraith King, he knows the kill won't stick. An Earthshaker has to play perfectly, using Fissure to split the fight or trying to bait the ultimate before a real engagement. Meanwhile, Wraith King simply needs to walk forward, knowing the enemy’s most impactful teamfight spell is fundamentally weakened against him.
