Trying to land a perfect Echo Slam often comes down to a race against Skywrath Mage's silence. If Earthshaker blinks into the middle of the fight, Skywrath can use Ancient Seal to stop the combo cold, leaving a stunned hero stranded and useless. This core interaction defines the matchup. Skywrath has the perfect tool to disable Earthshaker's primary threat, but he has to see the initiation coming to react in time. If Earthshaker can get the jump from fog of war, Skywrath is usually too fragile to survive the initial stun and burst damage, making him an easy primary target.

The result is a constant mid-game duel of positioning and vision.
