Earthshaker vs Sven

How this matchup plays

Controlling a farmed Sven presents a difficult puzzle for Earthshaker. While Fissure is an excellent tool for catching Sven out of position, Sven has his own answers. Warcry gives his team enough bulk to withstand the initial burst after a stun, and God's Strength provides the damage to quickly eliminate Earthshaker in return. This dynamic gets even trickier for the Earthshaker once Sven acquires a Black King Bar, which lets him completely ignore Aftershock stuns. Echo Slam is also unreliable; it can devastate Sven’s team if they are grouped, but does very little against a lone, split-pushing Sven.

The matchup often comes down to timing and positioning. Earthshaker looks for opportunities to isolate Sven with a Fissure block before he can activate BKB, or to land a fight-winning Echo Slam on Sven's clumped-up teammates. Sven, in turn, plays around these cooldowns, waiting for Earthshaker to commit his spells before activating God's Strength and charging a key target. Because each hero has a clear way to counter the other's primary plan, the outcome of their engagements depends entirely on execution in the moment.
