Earthshaker vs Ursa

How this matchup plays

Dealing with a committed Ursa requires control, and Earthshaker provides exactly that. A well-placed Fissure can stop an Ursa's charge cold, creating enough distance to save a teammate or kite him after he uses Enrage. Later on, Echo Slam punishes Ursa for blinking onto a core who is standing near creeps or illusions. Earthshaker’s chain stuns give his team the window they need to burst down the durable bear before he can build up too many Fury Swipes stacks and become a real problem.

The matchup often hinges on Ursa’s item timings and positioning. Before he gets a Black King Bar, he is extremely vulnerable to Earthshaker's lockdown. An Ursa player will try to play around this by seeking out solo pickoffs, avoiding the big teamfights where Echo Slam gets the most value. The Earthshaker, in turn, wants to stay behind his team, waiting for Ursa to commit before dropping his spells. It becomes a game of patience, where a single good Fissure can decide whether Ursa gets a kill or dies for the attempt.
