Enchantress vs Tidehunter

How this matchup plays

Trying to kite and weave through a fight as Enchantress gets much harder when Tidehunter is on the opposing team. His kit is well-suited to pinning her down. Ravage provides the massive area-of-effect stun she can't easily dodge, allowing his team to focus her before she can reposition or use Nature's Attendants. Even outside of his ultimate, Gush and Anchor Smash make her job difficult by slowing her and reducing her physical damage output, which is a major source of her threat. Kraken Shell also helps him shrug off slows from her or her allies, making him hard to peel.

This advantage is not absolute, however. Early in the lane, Enchantress can often pressure Tidehunter heavily, delaying the Blink Dagger he needs to be a primary initiator. Her Impetus damage is pure, meaning it ignores his high armor and the damage block from Kraken Shell, letting her poke him down from a distance. The game often becomes about his initiation versus her positioning. If Tidehunter can consistently land his spells on Enchantress, his team is in a good spot. If she can play around his cooldowns and survive the initial jump, she can easily turn the fight.
