Faceless Void vs Leshrac

How this matchup plays

Thinking that Leshrac's constant spell damage will overwhelm a melee carry is a common mistake here. Faceless Void’s kit has tools that line up well against this kind of pressure. Chronosphere is the most obvious, completely neutralizing Leshrac and his area-of-effect damage if he gets caught. Even outside of his ultimate, Void can often use Time Walk to reverse a significant amount of damage from spells like Split Earth or Pulse Nova, surviving an initial burst that would kill other heroes. This gives him a way to reset and re-engage on his own terms.

The matchup often becomes a race against the clock. Leshrac hits his peak in the mid-game and will try to leverage that power to take towers with Diabolic Edict and control the map, starving Faceless Void of space to farm. Void, in turn, needs to survive this pressure until he has the items to reliably threaten a kill. Later on, a single successful Chronosphere on Leshrac can decide a teamfight, forcing the Leshrac player to position with extreme care.
