Faceless Void vs Lina

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst down Faceless Void feels like it should work for Lina, but his kit has a perfect answer. The whole point of Lina's combo is landing Light Strike Array to guarantee the rest of her damage. Time Walk allows Void to either dodge the stun entirely or undo a huge chunk of the burst damage from Laguna Blade if he gets caught. This forces Lina into a tough spot: she can't reliably initiate on him, and even if her team helps, Void often has a chance to escape. It disrupts the simple "stun and delete" plan that Lina depends on to get ahead and stay relevant.

Later on, the threat of Chronosphere dictates how Lina has to play. She can't sit on the edge of a fight and throw spells freely because she's a prime target for being isolated and killed. Faceless Void can farm more aggressively, knowing a gank from Lina alone is unlikely to succeed. While a well-played Lina with good positioning and team support can still contribute, Void has the more direct way to counter his opponent. He forces her to play defensively, which isn't where she wants to be, giving his own team a slight initiative advantage in skirmishes.
