Faceless Void vs Muerta

How this matchup plays

Believing Muerta can use Pierce the Veil to safely deal damage is the core misunderstanding of this matchup. Faceless Void's Chronosphere completely negates that plan. The stun freezes her solid, whether she's ethereal or not, preventing her from attacking or moving. While Void's own physical attacks can't damage her during her ult, he controls the entire engagement. He can use the time to let his team drop magic damage on her, or simply trap her until her ultimate expires and she becomes a vulnerable target again. Chronosphere turns Muerta's greatest strength into a massive liability.

This dynamic forces Muerta to play with extreme caution. Instead of confidently starting fights with her ultimate, she has to hover at the edges, praying Chronosphere is used on a teammate first. For Faceless Void, the game plan is simple: find Muerta, trap her, and take her out of the fight. He doesn't even need to catch other heroes. Locking down the enemy's main damage dealer for the full duration of his ultimate is often enough to secure a teamfight victory on its own, leaving her team exposed and without their carry.
