Faceless Void vs Necrophos

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst Necrophos inside a Chronosphere can feel like a waste of a cooldown. He can often use Ghost Shroud to become immune to all of Faceless Void's physical damage, leaving Void hitting air for several crucial seconds. Outside of that ultimate, Necrophos is a constant source of attrition. Heartstopper Aura whittles down a melee hero like Void throughout a fight, setting him up for a Reaper's Scythe. That Scythe is also a great tool for catching a low-health Void trying to use Time Walk to escape, stunning him long enough to secure the kill.

This whole matchup comes down to positioning and initiation. Faceless Void has to find and burst Necrophos before he can press his buttons, usually with help from his team's magic damage. A well-placed Chronosphere that catches Necrophos without buyback can still decide the game. Necrophos, on the other hand, wants to play from the back line, surviving the initial jump with items or good positioning. He can then turn the fight around once Void's ultimate is over. Because Necrophos has a direct counter to Void’s personal damage, the fight tends to lean his way.
