Faceless Void vs Clockwerk

How this matchup plays

Getting jumped by Clockwerk can feel hopeless, but Faceless Void often has an answer. The main issue for Clockwerk is that his entire initiation with Hookshot and Power Cogs can be reversed. A good Faceless Void will hold Time Walk specifically for this, letting him escape the cogs and heal back a portion of the Battery Assault damage. This forces Clockwerk to have immediate follow-up from a teammate, otherwise his big initiation is spent, and he’s left out of position while his primary target walks away. It makes locking down Void a much higher-effort task.

This dynamic shapes how the whole game plays out. While Clockwerk can be a nuisance in lane, his solo kill threat on Faceless Void drops off quickly. By the mid-game, Clockwerk has to be very careful about which target he chooses, as a failed attempt on Void can easily get him killed. Later on, the game becomes about Chronosphere. Clockwerk is often forced to play reactively, staying on the edges of a fight and hoping to find a different target, as he can do very little if Void decides to initiate on him first.
