Faceless Void vs Wraith King

How this matchup plays

Picking a hard carry into an enemy Wraith King often feels like a puzzle, but picking Faceless Void can feel like a trap. The entire strength of Chronosphere is securing a kill on an isolated, high-value target. Wraith King's Reincarnation directly counters this entire concept. Committing such a long cooldown to kill him once is a massive waste of resources, as he simply rises again ready to fight. This fundamental interaction turns Faceless Void's strongest ability into a minor delay for Wraith King, giving WK’s team a huge window to collapse and punish the used Chronosphere.

Throughout the game, this forces the Void player into a bind. He either has to use his ultimate on less important heroes or try to fight Wraith King without it, which is rarely a winning trade. Meanwhile, Wraith King can play aggressively, knowing that even if he gets caught by Chronosphere, he gets a second life to turn the fight. This allows him to dictate the tempo and force objectives.
