Faceless Void vs Vengeful Spirit

How this matchup plays

Catching an enemy core inside Chronosphere is how Faceless Void expects to win a fight. Vengeful Spirit makes this incredibly difficult. Her Nether Swap is the perfect counter, allowing her to pull a trapped teammate to safety from a long distance. Even worse for Void, she can swap him out of his own ultimate, leaving him stranded and useless while his spell ticks down. On top of that, her reliable stun from Magic Missile can lock him down before he uses Time Walk to escape, and her armor reduction makes the normally elusive carry much easier to burst down.

This dynamic forces Faceless Void to change his entire game plan. He can no longer freely jump on the first target he sees. Instead, he must try to catch Vengeful Spirit herself within the Chronosphere, or find a way to kill her before the fight even begins. This often leads to predictable initiations that a savvy Vengeful Spirit can anticipate and avoid. Her entire goal becomes positioning safely in the backline, waiting to turn Void’s ultimate from a teamfight win into a complete disaster for his own team.
