Nature's Prophet vs Sand King

How this matchup plays

Pinning Sand King down with Sprout often backfires. He can Burrowstrike right through the trees and is now in your face, which is the last place Nature's Prophet wants to be. Sand King’s entire kit is built to close gaps and lock down single targets, while Prophet has no innate way to survive that kind of initiation. Once caught by Burrowstrike or an Epicenter, he dies. Even laning against Sand King is tough, as Prophet's treants give Caustic Finale plenty of targets to spread to, helping him farm and harass.

This dynamic makes it very difficult for Nature's Prophet to execute his game plan. His main goal is to split the map with Teleportation and apply pressure, but Sand King is a perfect response. He can clear the incoming creep wave and then Blink-initiate for an easy kill on the isolated Prophet. This forces Nature's Prophet to play with extreme caution, severely limiting his global impact. Sand King gets to dictate the tempo, finding pickoffs and punishing any attempt by Prophet to create space for his team.
